As one of our Fresh Expressions of church, our Community Cafe re-opens on Wednesday 6th September between 10am and 12 noon in the Lesser Hall of NFL Community Centre. From the re-opening date there will be a mid-moming feature taking place most weeks between 10.45 and ll. 15am.
On 6th September this period features “Musical Memories” with Audrey at the electronic organ playing ‘Big Band Sounds’ from the 1950’s and 60’s. Everyone of a sufficient vintage or not will enjoy this, and anyone who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s may find it beneﬁcial.
On Wednesday 13th September, CAB (Citizen’s Advice) are sending a member of staff to talk about an issue that concerns everyone, namely, ‘Nuisance Calls‘.
On Wednesday 20“, “Meet your Councillors” is the mid-morning feature, when new Councillor Jon Herd will entertain with a talk about himself and his role within the new East Ayrshire Council. (No, he won’t be doing or saying anything political, or dealing with complaints) Councillor Barry Douglas visits in October and Councillor Fiona Campbell in November.
On Sunday 3rd September it is planned to give out to all attending services in St. Kentigern‘s and St. Matthew’s a postcard size publicity card which it is hoped will be used as an invite to a neighbour or friend to attend the Community Cafe with them.
The team are geared up to serve you that nice scone, pancake, biscuit or cake along with your coffee, tea or soft drink/water, all at low prices.
