Friday 13 – Isaiah 58:10 If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.
Heavenly Father we ask that you show us how to reach out to others less fortunate than ourselves. Give us the time to answer their call, however difficult it could be. Open the doors of our hearts so we can let others in. Bringing the light into all areas of darkness and shining above the gloom.
Thursday 12 – Luke 12:22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.
Creator God you fashioned us in images like no other. Various shapes and sizes, help us to maintain that image and not change it. Desires of our heart for a difference shape, is not the way you wanted us to grow. Let us be content with the body you gave us and never change it to suit ourselves.
Wednesday 11 – Job 37:9-10 From its chamber comes the whirlwind, and cold from the scattering winds. By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.
Lord you control the weather and as we now are in the winter period of the year it’s getting colder and wetter. Forgive us Lord when we complain about it. Other parts of this world are in flames destroying everything in its path and could do with the rain to quench the flames. The planet you created is in a mess, forgive us Lord and help us to understand how we can correct it before it’s too late. This we pray in Jesus name.
Tuesday 10 – Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Children Lord is a treasure to be nurtured and loved. Whether they are family or just children we know. We ask that you give us the instruments of teaching them about you in a way that they understand and with compassion. So that they can grow in your loving faith, we thank you lord for this opportunity.
Monday 9 – Proverbs 27:9 Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.
Lord at this very busy time let us take a quiet time out of our hectic days and remember all of those who have gone before us. Lord we pray that they are looking down on us and that they are happy in your kingdom. We remember them in our hearts this Christmas time, gone but never forgotten. Good friends are for life, till we meet again, we send love.
